lyrics
I’ve seen you racing red lights
I’ve seen it all before, in my life
Watching people racing red lights
Watching those people fall
down, so far down
But I bet there's something
in your sweet and precious soul
There is something we don’t know
and it just might be the devils work
You see the baby while its sleeping
You give it everything she needs
Now that baby is a woman
surrounded by liars and lovers and cheats
No she’s not alright
Oh how she misses her family
Left alone
Left all alone racing red lights
Left all alone chasing dreams
Must be a part of the devils work
Stuck up high on that mountain top
She lost her way
and she’s alone
surrounded by liars and lovers and cheats
She dreams that she can fly
Oh how she misses her family
She keeps chasing red lights
But those red lights
just won’t change
She’s lost to the devils work

I told myself I'd review when I could pick a favourite song. I still can't really pick one -- it'd be easier to list the ones I like the least, but even they've grown on me to a point where I want to listen to them frequently ("Funky Bonez", I'm lookin' you!). At a push it's probs "I Need Lovin'" that beats the rest -- there's just something special about it.
There's something special about the whole album, really. I love the different influences in it.
Guys, keep doin' you!♡ Ashley
